"Near Chicago's Bean", a view of Millenium Park and Cloudgate

My paintings of cityscapes, lighthouses, Midwest barns, and Haunted scenes are captured from initial drawings and draft paintings done on location, from multiple photographs, and finished in my art studio.
Painting above is "Witches Moon", a view of a Victorian house in Lebanon, Tennessee. The moon is a "Blue Moon", the 2nd full moon in the month of October, called a Witches Moon. Early movie characters are shown along with eight characters from the movie "the Wizard of Oz".

My goal in painting is to transform every day locations into "memorable places". I usually visit the location at several times during the day to capture the desired lighting and/or a specific mood. I often start paintings on location, then finish them in the studio. Pictured here is "Glade Creek Grist Mill", in Babcock State Park, West Virginia.
