My paintings of cityscapes, lighthouses, Midwest barns, and mountain scenes are captured from initial drawings and draft paintings done on location, and from multiple photographs.
Painting above is "Witch House", has 11 witches near the Old Hickory Tavern, in Coudersport, PA.
My goal in painting is to transform every day locations into memorable places. I usually visit the location at several times during the day to capture the desired lighting and/or a specific mood. I often start paintings on location, then finish them in the studio. Pictured here is "Glade Creek Grist Mill".
